“What’s written in the current letter has already been voiced numerous times by Georgian Dream’s hired lobbyists and various other messengers – only from a much milder and humbler stance. But now this letter is tailored for the Georgian public. Pathetically, the entire Georgian Dream, all speaking in one tone, is pleading with Trump and his new administration: 'Please, talk to us.'”

This was stated by Beka Liluashvili, one of the leaders of "Gakharia – For Georgia", during his appearance on Palitra News’ program "Dgis Newsroom."

According to him, the real audience of Irakli Kobakhidze’s open letter is not Trump or J.D. Vance – it’s the citizens of Georgia.

“I want to address Georgian Dream supporters: Where is the meeting with the U.S. Ambassador that Ivanishvili promised would happen two weeks after the election? Where is that January 20 date, which the whole of Georgian Dream was using to calm and reassure people, saying that from the day after Trump’s inauguration, the U.S. would review its position on Georgia and restore the partnership? Where are those promises and expectations they created for the public? Nowhere. Yesterday, in a pathetic, unified tone, the entire Georgian Dream was begging Trump and his new administration to talk to them.

Beyond the lines of this letter, it’s clear who its real author is – Ivanishvili, who believes he should be the one they talk to and that he is the one to ‘reset’ everything, despite never having stopped lobbying or sending messages through his intermediaries.”

Regarding the Georgian Parliament’s special statement in response to the MEGOBARI Act, Liluashvili stated:

“What should we expect from this political response? Nothing special. It will be just another political statement adopted by Parliament – and it will be worthless. This so-called government is deceitful, having betrayed the Georgian people and international partners many times. Ultimately, they stole the election and denied people their most important democratic tool – the ability to express their political will. No one will return to old relationships with them.

There might still be communication – the U.S. State Department has even said they are speaking with them, discussing what needs to be done to return U.S.-Georgia relations to normal and provide the Georgian people with more support from the American people, which is reflected in the MEGOBARI Act. They are being told what is required – not just by the U.S., but by Brussels and through various other platforms as well.

This is all fake ‘principledness.’ From the perspective of tactical, PR, and strategic communications, the letter naturally had to carry a tone of principle. But we all know the letter’s true audience is not Trump or J.D. Vance – it’s the Georgian citizens.

What’s written in this letter has already been said many times by Georgian Dream’s paid lobbyists and other messengers, only in much softer, more submissive, and crouched tones. Of course, this new letter is intended for the Georgian audience. They’re trying to get people to accept that they couldn’t defeat their imagined ‘deep state’ in the U.S., and that the failure to reset relations, the broken promises, and all that wasn’t their fault – they want to shift the blame. This is classic strategic communication tactics.”

On Mamuka Mdinaradze’s statement that Georgian Dream is building a “dignified state,” Liluashvili replied:

“You can’t build a dignified state with undignified people. People with no principles, no values – people who have been sycophants and slaves to every government – cannot build a respectable or proud state.

Let them publish the previous letters that were sent [to the U.S.], and we’ll see what kind of tone they used. Or release the talking points they gave to lobbyists they send to the U.S. Then we’ll see how 'dignified' they really are and what kind of messages they were delivering from Georgia. It will become clear from what kind of 'proud positions' they were speaking.

Just to seize power and illegally grab these levers of influence, they’ve simply sacrificed our relationship with the West and the U.S. for their party and personal interests.

Yesterday, they even added a new context – apparently, it’s now because of relations with China that the West is angry. These faceless people are speaking about things they don’t understand at all and trying to introduce new lines of propaganda. It’s shameful!” – said Beka Liluashvili.

Israeli Ambassador to Georgia - Our strategy is not to have Hamas controlling the Gaza Strip - Unfortunately, the UN cooperates with Hamas, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch work in favor of Hamas
