The protest rally has resumed on Rustaveli Avenue.
Despite resistance from law enforcement, on the 168th day of continuous protest, citizens gathered in front of the legislative body have blocked the roadway. The police have since left the area.
Earlier, police cordons were positioned on both sides of the road near the Parliament.
The demonstrators’ demands remain unchanged — the announcement of new elections and the release of individuals detained during the protest period.
