The procession held in connection with the Day of the Sanctity of the Family has ended.

At this moment, the Patriarchal locum tenens, Metropolitan Shio of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, together with the hierarchs, will hold a thanksgiving service at the Trinity Cathedral.

The procession was attended by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, Mikheil Kavelashvili and other representatives of the executive and legislative authorities.

On the occasion of the Day of the Sanctity of the Family, a procession was held from the St. George Church in Kashveti to the Trinity Cathedral.

In addition to Tbilisi, the procession was held in various dioceses.

May 17 was declared the Day of the Sanctity of the Family by the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia in 2014.
