Elene Khoshtaia – The Dream is clearly having trouble dealing with the issue of the use of chemical weapons, Bidzina has come up with a new trick - let's not fall for the false narrative created around prices, let's prove the only truth: the thief government is impoverishing us

Bidzina has come up with a new trick, but we are not inexperienced either - let's not fall for the false narrative they have created around prices - let's prove the only truth: the thief government is impoverishing us, - reads the statement of one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, the imprisoned Elene Khoshtaria.

According to her, Georgian Dream is offering the public "a performance - the so-called parliamentary commission."

"Bidzina has come up with a new trick, but we are not inexperienced either. The Dream is clearly having difficulty dealing with the issue of the use of chemical weapons. Moreover, this is a topic that goes beyond just the people involved in the protest and, naturally, scares everyone. Accordingly, Ivanishvili decided to resort to a propaganda trick and launched a fake investigation into product prices.

Product prices worry everyone, therefore, talking about this issue will definitely attract attention. The topic is well chosen.

They also used a propaganda frame: a “caring” government will save us from “evil businessmen”. So what if these prices are directly and 100% the result of the government’s actions (wrong macroeconomics, tax policy, corruption, reduced investments, political crisis, isolation of the country, absence of a court, and so on).

And to make it even more exciting, they offer us a spectacle - the so-called parliamentary commission, which will throw one evildoer (businessman) at us every day.

This is easy for us to foresee. They will not deceive us anymore. Therefore:

Let’s not fall for the false narrative they have created around prices. Let's prove the only truth - the thief government is impoverishing us.

Let's continue the joint attack on the issue of chemical weapons poisoning with the same and greater intensity. Both our coalition and other parties, NGOs and activists,” Khoshtaria writes.

For information, the Prime Minister stated that the difference between Georgian and European prices for food products is indeed large. According to Irakli Kobakhidze, the difference is due to the high markup of distribution companies and markets, which averages 86% from the border to the counter. The Prime Minister called on law enforcement agencies to study the issue related to food prices. Kobakhidze also asked the Parliament to establish a parliamentary commission to assess the issue. In turn, the State Security Service stated that it is starting to study the issue related to food prices, just as the parliamentary majority is ready to establish a special commission in the Parliament.
