For 4 years, behind the scenes, they have been demanding that we impose sanctions, but they have been avoiding talking about it publicly. Now they have decided to talk about all this openly, which is very good, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists about the statements of the British Ambassador to Georgia.
According to him, this shows double standards and that they have a specific interest against Georgia.
"What we were telling the public and what some people were saying as if it didn't happen, today they have already started talking about it openly. First, there was a resolution of the European Parliament, which openly called for the imposition of sanctions, and now there are already statements from ambassadors. I would like to remind you that there are countries that they declare to be pro-Western, anti-Russian, and so on, these countries have not imposed any sanctions, but no one has ever demanded the imposition of sanctions. This shows a double standard. This shows that they have a specific interest against our country," Kobakhidze said.
For information, the UK Ambassador to Georgia stated that no one is asking Georgia to open a second front and this is disinformation. According to him, Georgia can play its role by joining the European sanctions.
