The person who has made fascist statements regarding Georgia is overseeing the issues of Georgia in the European Parliament - the papers of people with fascist statements will be torn and thrown away, - the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, stated while commenting on the report on Georgia that is to be presented to the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee today.

According to him, the said report has no value.

"The report is prepared by a person who has made fascist statements regarding Georgia. Let me remind you, she [Rasa Jukneviciene] said that the Georgian Dream is an infection and this is a fascist statement. She also said that it is the fault of the Georgian people, because they vote for the Georgian Dream. So, the main problem is that today, the issues of Georgia in the European Parliament are overseen by a person who has made fascist statements regarding Georgia. On the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, we see a person in the European Parliament making fascist statements regarding Georgia. Therefore, these resolutions, of course, have no value for us. The papers of people with fascist statements will be torn and thrown away,” Papuashvili said.

For information, a report on Georgia will be presented to the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee today. The report will be presented by the European Parliament’s permanent rapporteur, Rasa Juknevicienė. According to the draft, the report reflects the fact that democratic regression in Georgia has further intensified. The draft report states that the Georgian Dream continues a systematic campaign against the European Union, officials and diplomats.
