In June 2024, the European Union unilaterally, by its own decision, suspended the political dialogue with Georgia - we offer the EU to resume the dialogue! We offer an open and transparent dialogue! I do not see any real levers for restarting relations beyond this, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze responded to a question on the continuation of relations with the EU.
As Kobakhidze noted, “the only lever is an open and transparent discussion, which must be resumed.”
“We offer this to the EU - we offer the EU to renew their decision. In June 2024, they made a decision to suspend the political dialogue. If they revise this decision, we are fully ready,” - Irakli Kobakhidze stated.
Kobakhidze also stated today that the Georgian government will continue to fulfill its obligations regarding European integration, which, according to him, stem from the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement.
“This is our agenda. If they have a healthy attitude from the European bureaucracy, then everything will be all right in terms of Georgian-EU relations. The main thing is for them to change their attitude and demonstrate a fair attitude towards the Georgian people,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
