Irakli Kobakhidze - Ursula von der Leyen's statement regarding the visa-free regime is also directly related to the British decision - very simple coordination is clearly visible, external interference is also visible

They see the dying opposition and they have decided in a coordinated manner to give something at the opposition to revive it, and this is served by sanctions, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated.

He also explained that the statement of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen regarding the possible termination of visa-free travel for the Georgian population is directly related to the sanctioning of two Georgian television companies by Britain. Kobakhidze calls these actions simple coordination.

"This is directly related to the British decision. Very simple coordination is clearly visible, external interference is also clearly visible. The European bureaucracy itself has the same problems as the British bureaucracy. They see the dying opposition and they have decided in a coordinated manner to give something at the opposition to revive it, and this is served by sanctions. The sanctions are designed to revive the dying opposition here at least a bit, and the statement of the President of the European Commission serves the same purpose, which is of little interest to us. We are saying the only thing regarding European integration, we are ready to continue fulfilling our obligations, which stem, first of all, from the Association Agreement, the Free Trade Agreement, and this is our agenda. If they have a healthy attitude from the European bureaucracy, in this case everything will be properly in terms of Georgian-EU relations. The main thing is for them to change their attitude and show a fair attitude towards the Georgian people,” Kobakhidze said.

For information, Ursula von der Leyen stated that the suspension of visas could be extended to the entire population if the problems are not resolved by the authorities.
