The Georgian Dream Political Council meeting and Ivanishvili’s appearance at this meeting confirm what we have been saying, that in fact, the sanctioning of the main control instrument of this political force, the propaganda channels, by Great Britain has dealt a major blow to the regime, said Salome Samadashvili, one of the leaders of Lelo-Strong Georgia.
According to her, the Georgian Dream will have to comply with sanctions imposed against the regime by both Britain and “the West in the future.”
The meeting of the Political Council of the Georgian Dream and Ivanishvili’s appearance at this meeting confirms what we have been saying, that in fact, the sanctioning of the main instrument of this political force [the Georgian Dream] – the propaganda channels – by Great Britain has dealt a huge blow to the regime, and today, they need to convince their party and voters that they have the resources to continue life as usual. And we saw that the Political Council, despite a lot of bickering, was happily dissolved.
"The Ivanishvili regime will have to comply with the sanctions that have already been imposed on their propaganda channels and will have to comply with all other sanctions that the West will impose against the regime in the future, as well as ultimately comply with the will of the Georgian people, which must be implemented through fair and free elections in our country," said Salome Samadashvili.
Salome Samadashvili also assessed Irakli Kobakhidze's statement regarding Lelo and noted that the party Lelo - Strong Georgia will compete in Georgian politics as an independent political force.
In addition, she said, Georgian Dream no longer has the trust of the Georgian people.
“The Georgian people need political change, so we believe that Lelo will definitely win, whose main ally in the fight against the Russian regime is the Georgian people and our citizens, which Ivanishvili is very afraid of and wants Lelo to cease to exist as an independent political player.
Lelo does not intend to join any political union. We have clearly stated our position that Lelo will compete in Georgian politics as a strong and independent political party,” said Salome Samadashvili.
