Shalva Papuashvili – Foreign donors have repeatedly rejected the government's recommendations on transparency and violated their obligations - we strongly urge them to engage constructively in this process

Foreign donors have repeatedly rejected the government's recommendations on transparency and violated their obligations - we strongly urge them to engage constructively in this process, - Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili writes on Facebook and publishes information about what specific changes have been made to the legislation regarding grants.

As Papuashvili notes, violations will have consequences.

"This week, the Georgian Parliament adopted amendments to the legislation regulating foreign political financing.

Foreign donors have repeatedly rejected the government's recommendations on transparency and violated their obligations. Violations will have consequences. Correcting the situation depends on foreign donors.

We strongly urge them to engage constructively in this process," Papuashvili writes.
