Gia Parulava: It seems that “Dream” has compiled a list of parties to be banned - they might add other political actors as well - nothing is ruled out, not even withdrawing the lawsuit altogether

“Dream” talks about healing the political field, while at the same time meeting representatives of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly with a new “message” that more parties should be banned additionally — let’s wait and see what happens; it’s possible they will withdraw this lawsuit too — nothing would surprise us anymore, — this was stated by Gia Parulava, a deputy from “Gakharia for Georgia,” while assessing Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s statement.

According to him, “Georgian Dream” is intensifying its fight against opposition parties even more.

“What does it mean? I think they themselves said that other parties will be added to the lawsuit demand. We were just talking about the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly visit and the normalization of the political process; it seems that “Dream,” Kobakhidze is meeting the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly representatives with this “message,” and tomorrow they might add other political actors to the list of parties to be banned. Nothing is ruled out. This is their attitude. In general, they talk about normalizing politics, and on the other hand, they are intensifying their fight against parties even more,” — stated Parulava.

When asked why his party is not included in the list of parties to be banned, Parulava replies that this should be asked to “Georgian Dream” itself.

“We are in a fight. Today we are truly in a fight, and one example of this is the political persecution that our political leader personally suffers from “Dream” and from Ivanishvili. As for why we are not in the list of parties to be banned — you should ask “Dream” itself. “Dream’s” words are one thing, their actions are another. It is not ruled out that other parties will be added to this specific lawsuit demand, or that this lawsuit demand will be withdrawn from their side, because today, if anyone benefits from having the “National Movement” on the political field, it is “Dream,” — stated Parulava.

For information: During his comments on the “opposition alliance,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that “we will have to amend the lawsuit we filed with the Constitutional Court. We will need to change the names of the parties due to the new configuration.”
