The events unfolding in the Middle East remind us how great the importance of peace is - peace is the foundation of foundations for the development of the country, - stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the government meeting.
According to him, in the situation that has been created around Georgia, constant attention and caution are necessary to ensure that peace is firmly secured in the country.
"Once again, we must respond to the events unfolding in the Middle East. These events remind us how great the importance of peace is. Of course, in this extremely difficult situation that has been created around our country, naturally constant attention and caution are required to ensure that peace is firmly secured in Georgia. Peace is the foundation of foundations for the development of the country. Therefore, in the future as well, everything will be done to preserve peace and stability and to take maximum care of the development of our country.
In connection with this topic, I would like to recall that our citizens found themselves in quite a difficult situation after the start of military operations. Several hundred Georgian citizens remained in the Gulf Arab countries. I would like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ambassadors, and the embassy staff. As a result of their daily efforts, our citizens safely returned to their homeland. Four charter flights were organized by the state, and as a result, 558 of our citizens returned to Georgia. All flights were fully funded by the state," - stated Irakli Kobakhidze.
