Orban did not simply lose the elections, his rule suffered a complete systemic collapse. The Hungarian people gave the new government the mandate that the country needs for systemic reform. This is very important, - one of the leaders of Strong Georgia, Salome Samadashvili, writes on social networks.
According to Samadashvili, with the victory of the Tizsa party in Hungary, the chance has increased that the issue of sanctioning the regime will again "become active" on the EU agenda, while Georgia will retain the benefits it has gained, for example, in the form of visa-free travel.
"Orban's (Russian) invented pseudo-ideology, in the form of the so-called right-wing, sovereign 'conservatism' (in reality, the ideological cover of politicians working for Russians and big money), has suffered a major collapse. Despite the fact that Hungary was not a leading European state by any criteria, Orban played a central role in creating this ideology. With Orban, the very dangerous ideological line invented by Russians, which aimed at the destruction of Europe, is weakening. The center is getting stronger, Europe will be strong as long as centrist forces dominate its politics.
As for Georgia. Orban systematically blocked EU sanctions against Ivanishvili's regime. The collapse of Ivanishvili's main support will change the reality. Accordingly, I hope that the suspension of the visa-free regime for Georgian citizens will no longer be on the agenda, because the EU will become more effective in terms of sanctioning Ivanishvili's regime. For those who don't know, I'll explain that any EU member state has the right to veto the sanctioning of Ivanishvili's regime. However, the abolition of visa-free travel cannot be blocked by just one country. Orbán took advantage of this, blocking the sanctioning of Ivanishvili and thereby increasing the threat that the visa-free regime would be suspended. In other words, the chance that the topic of sanctioning the regime will become active again on the EU agenda has increased, while Georgia will retain the benefits that we have gained, for example, in the form of visa-free travel with the EU.
And finally, Europe has become stronger, Russia has weakened - this will not change the reality for us in the short term, the main thing is that a 'rearrangement' has taken place in the European political space, in our favor. Strategically, today Georgia has also taken a step forward, and this is important," Samadashvili writes.
For information, according to the Hungarian Election Information Center, after almost 90% of the votes have been counted, Peter Magyar's party "Tisa" is likely to win a majority in the Hungarian parliament. Viktor Orbán has admitted defeat.
