Irakli Kobakhidze: Congratulations to Rumen Radev on his victory in the Bulgarian elections - Georgia looks forward to further strengthening our long-standing friendship and deepening strong partnership

“I congratulate Mr. Rumen Radev and his team on their victory in the Bulgarian elections,” writes Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze in a post on the social platform X.

According to him, Georgia looks forward to strengthening friendship with Bulgaria and deepening cooperation.

“I wish them success in ensuring the country’s progress and the continued prosperity and well-being of the Bulgarian people. Georgia looks forward to further strengthening our long-standing friendship and deepening our strong partnership,” the Prime Minister wrote.

For context, according to preliminary official results, former President Rumen Radev is leading in the Bulgarian elections. After 91.7% of ballots were counted, Radev’s party “Progressive Bulgaria” received 44.7% of the vote. In second place is the coalition “We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” with 13.2%, and in third place is the party GERB of former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov with 13.4%.
