Tazo Datunashvili: Based on the functions, we concluded that Mdinaradze was supposed to act as a courier between Tamazashvili and Geladze, and ultimately he will become Kobakhidze’s secretary-referent - Given his type, he probably cannot easily communicate with the security structures and will need help in that

At first, as they themselves said, he was supposed to become a kind of government ‘Chekist’ overseeing the security structures. Then, based on the assigned functions, we concluded that he would serve as a courier between Tamazashvili and Geladze, acting between his two friends. And now, in the end, everything has ‘settled’ so that he will be Mr. Kobakhidze’s secretary-referent, who will help him communicate with the security structures. Given Kobakhidze’s character, he probably cannot easily talk to representatives of the security services, and he will need a secretary-referent for that,” said Tazo Datunashvili, a member of “Lelo – Strong Georgia,” regarding the appointment of Mamuka Mdinaradze as State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies.

According to Datunashvili, Kobakhidze probably cannot easily communicate with representatives of the security structures “due to his personal type.”

“At first, as they said, he was supposed to become a government ‘Chekist’ and overseer of the security structures. Then, based on the functions, we concluded that he was to act as a courier between Tamazashvili and Geladze, between his two friends. And now, in the end, everything has ‘settled’ so that he will be Mr. Kobakhidze’s secretary-referent. Apparently, Kobakhidze wants to have a new secretary-referent who will help him communicate with the security structures. Given Kobakhidze’s type, he probably cannot easily talk to security officials, and he will need a secretary-referent for that,” Datunashvili stated.

For context, according to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, a new position of State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies will be added to the government structure, to be held by Mamuka Mdinaradze. In addition, Gela Geladze has been nominated to the Parliament of Georgia as Head of the State Security Service, while Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Chair of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, will be appointed Minister of Internal Affairs.
