“Now some in the opposition are saying: ‘Saakashvili wants sole leadership! We won’t allow that, people!’ Wait a second — who stopped you from taking leadership?” Georgia’s third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, addressed the opposition in a social media post.
Saakashvili calls on them to rethink and reset their rhetoric, arguing that they are “far removed from reality.”
“The ‘Georgian Dream’ has been doing the same thing all this time — they throw out some lie, convince others of it, and gradually start believing it themselves. Now some in the opposition say: ‘Saakashvili wants one-man leadership! We won’t allow it!’ But who stopped you from leading? Did Saakashvili — who isn’t even allowed to meet the public — somehow come out of prison, lock you in, and now prevent you from reaching the people? Or what exactly is your situation?
Did Saakashvili, who doesn’t even have access to television, take away your ability to speak on TV? Or is it also my fault that you have reduced politics to a farce and turned into mere talking heads filling airtime?
You are far removed from reality — perhaps you should reset your rhetoric. Meanwhile, society has developed significantly, even artificial intelligence has caught up with you, and it’s no longer as dark as it was in 2012,” Saakashvili wrote on social media.
