Parliament will today hear Gela Geladze, who has been nominated for the position of head of the State Security Service, and will vote on his approval on the same day

At today’s session, Parliament will first take note of the statement on voluntary resignation submitted by Mamuka Mdinaradze.

As Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili stated at the Bureau meeting, the government will formally submit the nomination for the head of the State Security Service today. Another Bureau session will be held, after which the hearing of Gela Geladze will be referred to the Defense and Security Committee.

The committee meeting will also take place today, after which Geladze will be put to a vote at the plenary session.

Parliament elects the head of the State Security Service by a majority of its full composition for a six-year term.
