On World Press Freedom Day, Georgia’s democracy is under siege, the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, wrote in a post on social media on World Press Freedom Day.
According to her, since October 2024, more than 181 journalists have been injured in Georgia, 26 have been arrested, and more than 20 media outlets have been silenced.
“This is a systematic betrayal of our European path,” the fifth President of Georgia wrote.
