Irakli Kobakhidze on meetings within EPC Summit - It is an unwritten law of politics to talk to both enemies and friends - I talked to more than 25 leaders, Berset and Zelensky requested meetings themselves

This is an unwritten law of politics: one must talk to both enemies and friends - yesterday, about 50 leaders were present and I had conversations with more than half of them on various topics, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated while speaking about the meetings held within the framework of the 8th Summit of the European Political Community (EPC).

According to him, "in politics, you cannot turn against a person even when he treats you hostilely."

"You must be oriented towards protecting the interests of your country, you must be as pragmatic and diplomatic as possible. This is reflected in our mood and attitude. Everyone must talk, this is an unwritten law of politics, one must talk to both enemies and friends. Yesterday, about 50 leaders were present and I had conversations with more than half of them on various topics. You can calculate mathematically, if there were 50 leaders, I had conversations with at least more than 25 leaders," the Prime Minister noted.

The Prime Minister explained that there were pre-agreed meetings with only two leaders, while the Secretary General of the Council of Europe and the President of Ukraine requested the meeting themselves.

“There were pre-agreed meetings with only two leaders. In this format, there is an interview during the reception, during the break. This is the format in which the discussions take place. Alain Berset himself requested the meeting, Zelenskyy as well. The allotted time, the “window” is 1 hour. The meetings take place like that, even 1 hour will be shortened to 30-40 minutes. Two meetings were already agreed in advance. In such conditions, you cannot physically meet anyone when 2 are planned in advance. It also allows you to talk to 25-20 people on various topics in a short time, because it is a closed format, you cannot talk: "I talked to this person", "I talked to that person", “I met with with Pedro Sanchez", I met with this person, I met with that person", - the Prime Minister noted.
