Tengiz Sharmanashvili - How is Shalva Papuashvili's statement slander when Fischer is doing something that directly contradicts the Vienna Convention?!

No ambassador in Georgia has been told that we are eagerly waiting for him to leave Georgia, Georgian Dream MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili told journalists.

Sharmanashvili assessed the statement of German Ambassador Peter Fischer, who said that the statement of the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, was “slander.”

According to Sharmanashvili, the German ambassador is taking steps against the Vienna Convention.

“What kind of slander is this? He is doing something that is directly against the Vienna Convention. Rasa Yukneviciene is not a figure who can teach anything to the Georgian nation. Let her go and teach her own nation, we, Georgians, will take care of our own business,” Sharmanashvili said.

For information, according to the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, German Ambassador Peter Fischer “also has a problem with politeness.” According to him, “it is very sad what this one person has done to Georgian-German relations.”

“I thought Mr. Peter only had a problem with the Vienna Convention, and it seems that he also has a problem with politeness. It is very sad what we are observing, what this one person has done to Georgian-German relations. The entire society is waiting impatiently for him to leave Georgia, there are only a few weeks left for his stay in Georgia. We expect him to leave Georgia and we will forget this moment,” Papuashvili noted.

German Ambassador Peter Fischer responded to this statement by the Speaker of the Parliament and accused Shalva Papuashvili of slander.

“EU 101. Today, How NOT to get into EU: Go to one EU member state and slander ambassador of another EU member. EU is cooperation and solidarity. Example: Germany is Slovakia’s 1 trade partner, central to investment and industry. Deep interdependence, key to Slovakia’s economy,” Peter Fischer wrote on X.
