Salome Zurabishvili on Patriarch Shio III's statement - Is such a family doomed? Such merciless words, such a harsh sentence - that leaves no hope, neither in God's immense love, nor in human salvation through faith?

Is such a family doomed? Such merciless words, such a harsh sentence - the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, writes on social media.

Salome Zurabishvili is responding to the statement of the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, Shio III, who said that if a “grave sin” is present in a family, such as abortion, “the family cannot build any happiness” and “such a family is doomed.”

“Is such a family doomed? Such merciless words, such a harsh sentence … that leaves no hope, neither in God’s immense love, nor in human salvation through faith???!!!”, - Zurabishvili writes.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, Shio III, addressed the congregation gathered at the Trinity Cathedral and drew attention to demographic trends.

According to the Patriarch, if a “grave sin” is present in a family, such as abortion, “a family cannot build any happiness on such a basis” and “such a family is doomed.”

According to Shio lll, on the contrary, where a child is born every two or three years, there is happiness.

"Dear sisters and brothers, if we do not think about all this, if we do not take care of strengthening, saving and preserving the family, we face a real danger that other peoples will settle in our paradise-like country, who love children, who do not abandon their children and who defend their religion," the Patriarch addressed the congregation gathered in the yard of the Trinity Cathedral.
