It is clear that the “Kots regime” is slipping into repeating Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s statement of November 28, 2024. The phrase “I do not want such EU membership” was clearly stated in Kobakhidze’s open letter and is being increasingly echoed by members of “the Kots,” — wrote Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the “Opposition Alliance,” on social media.

He is calling on citizens to gather on Rustaveli Avenue on May 26 and clearly state what kind of Georgia they want.

“On May 26, at 19:00, we must be many on Rustaveli and state even more loudly and clearly what kind of Georgia we want and how we will reclaim our homeland! Together, to victory, to the very end!” — Gvaramia wrote on Facebook.

For context, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said: “If the EU is like what we saw in the example of Denmark, then what do we have to do in such a European Union?!”

He also criticized Germany’s ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, saying that he “reproaches Georgia with such an EU,” which, in his view, is not justified. Kobakhidze stated that Georgia wants a “different European Union.”
