Grigol Gegelia on the Prime Minister’s report: A bundle of lies from the Prime Minister who heroically fell in the fight against egg prices; the Georgian nation must give a proper response to chronic liars

“A bundle of lies from the Prime Minister who heroically fell in the fight against the fight against egg prices,” said Grigol Gegelia, a member of the “Strong Georgia – Lelo” party, evaluating the government’s report on the implementation of state programs.

In his statement, Gegelia reviewed issues included in the Prime Minister’s report, adding that society must give a proper response to “Georgian Dream.”

“I want to respond to Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze’s annual report of lies.

Kobakhidze claims that the European Union has frozen institutional cooperation; he cites a November 2025 letter, while one year earlier, in November 2024, Kobakhidze himself halted the country’s European integration. This statement is remembered by the entire country.

Kobakhidze is lying when he says that the Anaklia deep-sea port is being built. According to him, the first ships were supposed to arrive in Anaklia six years ago, if not for Ivanishvili’s ‘dream.’ Instead, six years later we are told that dredging works are ongoing - work that the consortium had already completed years ago, when 5 million cubic meters of soil were pumped out.

After six years, Kobakhidze is promising what was already done seven years ago. Naturally, no reasonable person can take his statements on Anaklia seriously. What kind of port are we talking about when there is not even a road leading to it? The truth is that under this regime everything is being done to prevent the Anaklia port from being built, because this regime serves Russian interests, not Georgian ones.

Kobakhidze claims that Georgia’s alignment with EU law has reached 80%. It is completely unclear where this calculation comes from, because the EU itself produces only one such indicator regarding foreign policy alignment, in which the government has the lowest and most shameful score of 40%, not 80%.

Kobakhidze also claims that work continues to attract and support investments, while even his former propaganda chief says that foreign investment is not entering the country.

In 2025, foreign direct investment amounted to 1.68 billion, but 1.4 billion of that was reinvestment. This means no new money and no new foreign investment is coming into the country - these are reinvestments by companies already operating here.

Kobakhidze says that 233,880 children receive monthly assistance; however, he does not mention that his government, as it itself admitted, wasted 376 million GEL between 2022–2026 on the creation of 30,000 fictitious jobs. Yes - money that could have gone to socially vulnerable, hungry children instead!

Kobakhidze says that Georgia is actively working on NATO integration, while NATO itself said three years ago that Georgia is not fulfilling any of the obligations and key reforms required of an aspirant country.

This is the bundle of lies from the Prime Minister who heroically fell in the fight against egg prices. The dignified Georgian nation must soon give a proper response to chronic liars who have sacrificed the country’s reputation, stability, prosperity, and the fate of millions of Georgians to their own ego,” Gegelia said.
