Petre Tsiskarishvili: It would be unwise not to make use of Mikheil Saakashvili’s capabilities - sidelining him achieves nothing - everyone should rise above their ego - “losers” are those who do not believe in victory

“If Mikheil Saakashvili considers someone a ‘loser,’ he will name those individuals himself when he finds it necessary. ‘Losers’ are people who do not believe in victory,” said Petre Tsiskarishvili, one of the leaders of the United National Movement, speaking to journalists.

Tsiskarishvili believes that the opposition should make use of Saakashvili’s abilities.

“It would indeed be a great mistake on the part of the opposition not to make use of Mikheil Saakashvili and his capabilities. Pushing Misha aside contributes nothing to the common cause.

I think everyone should place themselves above their ego and personal ambitions, because the main ambition should be to free Georgia from this regime. I am convinced that this should be, and will remain, the primary objective.

As for whom Misha considers a ‘loser,’ he will name those individuals himself when the time comes. He has the opportunity to do so through social media. I am not going to speculate here.

You know, ‘losers’ are people who do not believe in victory. Those who have hope for the future, who see the bigger picture, including in the geopolitical context, and who believe in victory and maintain hope, cannot be called losers,” Tsiskarishvili said.

Asked whether there is anyone within the “opposition alliance” who does not believe in victory, Tsiskarishvili responded:

“You should ask those people whether they believe. If someone emerges who has no hope for anything and has resigned themselves to the idea of Georgian Dream remaining in power forever, then we can consider that person a loser,” he said.

For context, former President Mikheil Saakashvili, speaking at a hearing in Tbilisi City Court in the November 7 case, described some of his critics, including individuals within the opposition, as “losers.” Saakashvili argued that if there is public unity, “the regime will definitely be defeated.”

“We need to develop a winner’s psychology. Unfortunately, those people, including from the opposition, who criticize me, have developed a ‘loser mentality’—the belief that nothing can be done. It was the same during Shevardnadze’s time. Back then, Gogi Topadze, who was a party leader, used to say that ‘Shevardnadze will always be there and we should look for someone else,’” Saakashvili stated.
