Prosecutor in the so-called sabotage case: Individuals involved in searches of party offices, as well as a parliamentary representative, will testify today - the case contains numerous pieces of evidence, including video recordings and public statements calling for certain actions

According to Ani Khubejashvili, the prosecutor in the so-called sabotage case, the prosecution will continue presenting its evidence at today's hearing through witness testimony.

She stated that today's session will include testimony from individuals who participated in searches of political party offices, as well as a representative of Parliament who will provide information regarding alleged disruptions to the functioning of the legislature.

“Today's hearing will continue with the questioning of witnesses. Individuals who took part in searches of party offices will testify, as well as a representative of Parliament, who will provide the court with information regarding disruptions to Parliament's functioning.

As for the evidence in the case, there is a substantial amount of evidence, including video recordings, public information regarding their calls and appeals, information provided by investigators concerning their alleged violent actions, as well as information obtained through covert investigative measures, which reflects their alleged agreement on actions directed against state interests,” Ani Khubejashvili said.

For context, charges in the so-called sabotage case have been brought against Mikheil Saakashvili, Giorgi Vashadze, Nika Gvaramia, Nika Melia, Zurab Japaridze, Elene Khoshtaria, Mamuka Khazaradze, and Badri Japaridze.

More specifically, Giorgi Vashadze and Zurab Japaridze have been charged under Articles 318(1) and 319 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concern sabotage and assisting a foreign country in hostile activities. These offenses carry prison sentences ranging from seven to fifteen years.

Elene Khoshtaria has been charged under Articles 318(1), 319, and 321¹(1) of the Criminal Code, relating to sabotage, providing material resources for such an offense, and assisting a foreign country in hostile activities.

Nika Gvaramia, Nika Melia, Mamuka Khazaradze, and Badri Japaridze have been charged under Article 318(1), which concerns sabotage.

Mikheil Saakashvili has been charged under Article 317 of the Criminal Code, which concerns publicly calling for the violent overthrow of the constitutional order of Georgia or the overthrow of state authority.
