The UNM simply cannot be in a worse situation than it is today. There is a severe crisis in the party. The UNM has lost 70% of its regional core, partly due to betrayal, regime interference, and also due to mistakes (including my own mistakes) when I trusted someone too much, I may have offended someone. Especially recently, despite the sharp increase in my rating, the UNM’s rating has been falling, practically, the bond between me and the public perception of the UNM has been severed.

The UNM’s political council has not been held for many months. There was no communication at all between the current chairperson of the party and 90% of the core leadership. The party no longer radiated that it could change the government, it no longer created a political agenda, and only a shadow of its former strength remained.

I had been thinking on the topic of Nanuka for a few months. She has energy, experience, a talent for communicating with people, which is what we need most now. I have a desire for the leadership of this party. Just as it is completely fair for Levan Khabeishvili to have a desire for co-leadership, but we are both in captivity, before that I was in exile and I could not properly participate in the processes from there. In this situation, it is very important that someone be very active on the ground, and I thought that Nanuka would be such an active person. We need to become a people's party again, and who is more people's, more helpful to the people, than Nanuka?

I would like to appeal to everyone, you can also nominate other or your own candidates. I am sure that the elections will be held transparently and honestly.
