I am confident that this visit will take the bilateral relations between Georgia and Tajikistan to a new level. During the visit, a joint communiqué and a number of bilateral documents were signed, which will contribute to the deepening of our cooperation, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at the briefing held with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
According to him, during a meeting with the President, various issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including Georgia-Tajik cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
“I am pleased to be on an official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan today. I would like to note that our peoples and countries are connected by historically established special relations, which are based on mutual respect. Nevertheless, today was the first visit at the highest level from Georgia to the Republic of Tajikistan. Accordingly, this visit can be described as historic in its content. I am confident that this visit will take the bilateral relations between Georgia and Tajikistan to a new level. We are very interested in further deepening our relations and friendship.

We had a very interesting conversation on various issues of bilateral cooperation. This year, the Republic of Tajikistan celebrates the 35th anniversary of its independence. Before the briefing, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze met with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
"The Head of Government thanked the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for the warm hospitality and expressed hope that the first visit at the highest level will take bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new stage. At the expanded format meeting, the parties paid attention to the existing prospects for the development of bilateral relations, as well as issues of regional and international importance. The conversation touched on the importance of deepening trade and economic cooperation and developing partnership in the transport and logistics sector. The parties also discussed cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian and tourism spheres, which will contribute to the deepening of people-to-people ties. After the meeting, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon adopted a joint communiqué on the further development and strengthening of relations between the two countries," the government administration said.
