Renewing the United National Movement with new faces and young people is “the greatest nonsense,” according to Parliament Vice Speaker Nino Tsilosani.
“The United National Movement is a party on a downward trajectory. Not only will no normal young person join it, but no normal person at all will join it,” Tsilosani told journalists.
According to her, the United National Movement is “one big show” that needs “a cheap showman such as Nanuka Zhorzholiani.”
“It is nothing new that the United National Movement has a completely abnormal leader in the person of Mikheil Saakashvili. But the fact that women are now competing with one another in front of this leader to gain favor and secure a comfortable position is perhaps the greatest tragedy.
Nanuka Zhorzholiani and Tina Bokuchava attack each other and then justify themselves because they want to impress Saakashvili and somehow earn primacy. However, the fact that Nanuka Zhorzholiani has been named and is being considered by the leader himself for the position of chairperson of the United National Movement clearly shows that the party is one big show that needs a cheap showman like Nanuka Zhorzholiani.”
Tsilosani further claimed that Zhorzholiani is trying to impress Saakashvili with what she described as “innovative ideas.”
“It is obvious that Nanuka Zhorzholiani is trying to impress her leader with novel ideas. That is probably why she has advanced. I doubt that any of her opinions have a meaningful or substantiated basis.
This is confirmed by the fact that renewing the United National Movement with new faces and young people is the greatest nonsense. I wish them luck - let them do it. The United National Movement is a party heading downward, and not only will no normal young person join it, but no normal person at all.
The only thing the United National Movement still stands on today is its fundamentalist supporters, who cannot escape a violent reality and who, in effect, love their leader Saakashvili with a kind of Stockholm syndrome,” Tsilosani stated.
