Today, the Public Defender, Levan Ioseliani, will be heard in Parliament. Levan Ioseliani will present his annual report on human rights to the plenary session of the Parliament.

The Public Defender’s report was heard yesterday at the session of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration. During the report, the Ombudsman drew attention to the facts of ill-treatment of citizens detained during protests, and the situation in penitentiary institutions. In addition, he spoke about the disproportionate penalties for violations of the freedom of assembly. Levan Ioseliani also spoke about the rights of residents living in the occupied territories and near the occupation line.
