We are pursuing a policy against non-recognition and are ready to pursue such a policy against the European Parliament as well, when you do not recognize the government elected by people, this means an attack on the country's sovereignty, we will oppose this policy, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
According to the head of government, everyone should recognize Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, both the Russian Duma and the European Parliament.
"We are pursuing a policy against non-recognition in various directions and are ready to pursue such a policy against the European Parliament as well. The Russian Federation and four other states do not recognize Georgia in relation to Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions. Similarly, the European Parliament does not recognize Georgia's sovereignty, the entire territory of Georgia. This is their business. We are pursuing a policy against non-recognition. When you do not recognize the government elected by people, this means an attack on the sovereignty of the country. We will oppose this policy, our task is for everyone to recognize Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, both the Russian Duma and the European Parliament, and we will work on this. The European Parliament, in its current state and spirit, is very similar to the Supreme Council of the Soviet Union, as well as the Soviet approaches with which they work. This is a tragic situation," the Prime Minister said.
