"I can confidently state that corruption in the upper echelons of government has been fundamentally eradicated and defeated. This is one of the Georgian government's most significant achievements over the past year," Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said while delivering his annual address to Parliament.

According to Kobakhidze, the past year marked a turning point for the government. He noted that exactly one year ago, personnel and institutional changes within the government were completed, ushering in a new phase in its work.

"Over the past year, the governance system within the Georgian government has improved qualitatively, and this has been the key transformative change implemented in our country. These personnel changes affected both the government itself and its affiliated agencies. I would particularly like to highlight the establishment of the Government Efficiency Department, which is actively engaged in optimizing public spending.

In 2025, the department reviewed state programs and procurements worth GEL 115 million, resulting in savings of more than GEL 67 million. Those funds should now be directed toward the country's development. In 2026, the department generated direct savings of GEL 67 million, while an additional GEL 34 million was saved through revisions to monitored tenders, bringing the total to GEL 101 million. This is the result of the work carried out over the past year.

This is one concrete example demonstrating how the government's approach to public administration has changed. As you know, the Georgian government operates with full transparency - every government act is published - and transparency is one of the best safeguards against any form of misconduct.

Overall, all these efforts have been aimed at fundamentally eliminating corrupt practices within the governance system, and I can confidently say that over the past year we have largely achieved that goal.

Once again, I invite anyone - whether an opponent or not - to present even a single case of corruption from the reporting period, beginning in June of last year. If there are any suspicions, each of us is fully accountable.
