It is clear that this [the confrontation in Parliament] is, first of all, very bad for the image of our country, for Georgia in general, any person who loves Georgia would be heartbroken by what happened, - Tsotne Ivanishvili, the son of the honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, stated in response to the media question about the confrontation that occurred in Parliament a few days ago between the deputies of the Georgian Dream and Gakharia for Georgia.

In addition, Tsotne Ivanishvili places responsibility on the members of the opposition party, in particular, Giorgi Gakharia's team.

According to him, the confrontation was the result of verbal and physical provocations initiated by the Gakharia for Georgia deputies. Ivanishvili noted that severe verbal insults were also heard in the parliament, and this is what led to the escalation of the situation.

"Of course, it was all very bad to see. It was very bad for the image of the country, which raises another question for me regarding what was the purpose of this provocation from the members of the opposition party. What was the purpose of this provocation, why did they need to start verbal and physical violence? The provocation was both verbal and physical on their part. The fact remains that the provocation came from members of Giorgi Gakharia's party.

If you look at many leading European countries, Japan, and Korea, conflicts of this style in parliament are quite common, which is also very ugly. This is not followed by an investigation. Regarding the necessity of the investigation, Tsotne Ivanishvili noted that he considers it “ridiculous” to focus special attention on this issue, because, in his opinion, such confrontations are quite common in the parliaments of various countries.

“Focusing on the investigation is a bit ridiculous. In the context that, unfortunately, such things are very common,” Tsotne Ivanishvili said.
