Shalva Papuashvili has traveled to Serbia on an official visit, where he will participate in the first Conference of Speakers of Parliament from European Union candidate countries

The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, has traveled to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, on an official visit, according to the Parliament's press office.

According to the statement, during the visit, the Speaker will participate in the first (founding) Conference of Speakers of Parliament from European Union candidate countries, which is being held at the initiative of the Speakers of the Serbian and Ukrainian parliaments.

"The conference aims to establish a regular and effective platform for Speakers of Parliament that will promote deeper parliamentary dialogue among candidate countries, facilitate the exchange of information, coordinate positions, and strengthen mutual support throughout the European Union integration process.

During the conference, Shalva Papuashvili will deliver a speech and take part in the working sessions.

At the conclusion of the conference, the participants will adopt a joint declaration," the statement said.
