Irakli Kobakhidze on the opposition - In 2012, Bidzina Ivanishvili played a chess game for the opposition and if they thought they were good enough, he showed who the real grandmaster was - after 2012, they received 9 additional chess games and it will continue like this

I want to tell you that in 2012, they [opposition parties] were agents, but Bidzina Ivanishvili entered politics and played a chess game and if they thought they were good enough, he showed who the real grandmaster was, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated in response to a question about the opposition.

As the head of government noted, there are political parties in Georgia that do everything they can to lose their reputation in the eyes of people.

“Every time there is a different type of communication, they cannot hide their resentment. This is not at all interesting. As for their approach - this is important and I want to emphasize why a healthy democratic system can never be established with such political forces. Any political party in a healthy system, a healthy political party is oriented towards earning the support of people. No matter where you go, everyone is trying to please people, so that they can then vote, express their trust, and so on. There are political parties in Georgia that are not oriented towards this at all and, on the contrary, do everything in such a way as to lose their own, so to speak, reputation in the eyes of people. The only people they are trying to please are external forces. This is an absolutely unprecedented phenomenon. Why? This is not the opposition, this is a typical foreign agency, therefore, the agency cannot be oriented towards people, it will be oriented only towards its own patrons. This is the general picture," the Prime Minister said.

He also said that even after 2012, they constantly had the support of their patrons.

"Every time we went, I still remember 2016-2017, we would see European parliamentarians and representatives of executive bodies with heavy faces, the same thing happened in the United States. On the other hand, the opposition was always well received. Why? Because it they are agents. We also said at the briefing that they are not interested in the quality of democracy at all, nor are they interested in human rights. If democracy and human rights were their subject of interest, of course, they would not have supported the then government in 2004-2012. They are not interested in this at all. They are not interested in other countries, not in Moldova, for example, they are not interested in human rights, nor democracy, nor democratic elections, they are not interested in anything. Everyone sees this very well.

In other words, these people have always had external support, even at the institutional level. Why? Because they were agents. But this did not help them either in 2012 or after 2012. In 2012, they received one chess game, and after 2012, they received 9 additional chess games, and this will continue," Irakli Kobakhidze said.
