It is very important for us to reset relations with Germany. You know that the former ambassador made a very bad contribution to Georgian-German relations, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated, responding to the information that Georgian Ambassador to Germany Alexandre Kartozia presented his credentials to the German President, and the information about the identity of the Georgian President on the German Foreign Ministry's website was corrected.
According to Kobakhidze, Georgia is grateful for the assistance that Germany has provided to Georgia since the 1990s, therefore, resetting relations with it is of particular importance.
"Germany has traditionally been one of the most important partners for Georgia. Since the 1990s, Germany has made a very significant contribution to the development of Georgia, and we want to return to the same positive dynamics of relations. The German ambassador to Georgia has been replaced, our ambassador to Germany presented his credentials to the German President, and we hope that these steps will contribute to the resetting of our relations, which is once again of great importance to us. We are grateful for the support we have received from Germany since the 1990s, so we are particularly interested in resetting these relations," Kobakhidze said.
For information, the Georgian ambassador presented his credentials to the German President on July 23. Aleksandre Kartozia was appointed as the Ambassador of Georgia to Germany on October 1, 2025.
