Irakli Kobakhidze - Georgia is ready to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of Nauru and promote the deepening of cooperation

The decision of the Republic of Nauru to terminate diplomatic relations with the so-called Republic of Abkhazia and the so-called Republic of South Ossetia once again confirms that respect for and observance of the norms of international law is the basis of healthy international relations, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at a government session.

The Prime Minister thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs and each diplomat.

“On July 21, the government of the Republic of Nauru made a decision to terminate diplomatic relations with the so-called Republic of Abkhazia and the so-called Republic of South Ossetia. This decision once again confirms that respect for and observance of the norms of international law is the basis of healthy international relations. Georgia is ready to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of Nauru and promote the deepening of cooperation.

I would like to thank the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Maka Bochorishvili, and each diplomat who is working to implement a successful non-recognition policy,” the Prime Minister said.
