The court found Nika Melia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, guilty of contempt of court.

By the decision of Judge Nino Elieshvili, Nika Melia was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison, however, the aforementioned sentence has absorbed the previous sentence imposed on Nika Melia and Nika Melia will leave prison in December 2026.

For information, Nika Melia was charged with contempt of court, specifically, verbally insulting the judge of the Administrative Cases Board, Tornike Kochkiani.

Melia was charged under Article 366, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (contempt of the court, manifested by insulting a judge), which provides for up to 2 years of imprisonment as a form and measure of punishment.
