Absolutely false content is being created on social media, non-existent people are talking as if there is a negative environment for Russian tourists in Georgia - this has only one goal, sabotage against their own country. Of course, our door is open to everyone, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

According to the Prime Minister, the only goal of this is sabotage against their own country.

“This, in itself, is very interesting. There is also direct sabotage, including the use of social media very actively for this. It is happening from the platform of one of the countries, including the provision of this coordination. Absolutely false content is being created in social media, non-existent people who do not exist with such a name, surname, profession, are talking as if a negative environment has been created in Georgia for Russian tourists.

This has only one goal, sabotage against one’s own country. Of course, our door is open to everyone, to any tourist. This is what needs to be said very openly. We will do everything to create a proper environment for all tourists in Georgia. This is our culture, this is our tradition, and this is what the economic interests of our country need,” the Prime Minister said.

He also answered the question of what results the investigation launched by the State Security Service under the article of sabotage could bring.

"Of course, this is very important. First of all, everyone should know that if someone commits sabotage against Georgia, everyone will be brought to justice. Everyone should know this very well. In this regard, of course, it is very important to start this case, to start an investigation, and it is even more important that this investigation be brought to the end. I will repeat once again, everyone who is engaged in sabotage against their own country, who opposes the national interests of Georgia, everyone should know that they will be brought to justice and this will definitely be the case, because today the state is stronger than ever. Accordingly, we will oppose all attempts to oppose the national interests of Georgia," - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

For information, the State Security Department of the State Security Service has launched an investigation under the article of sabotage in connection with a discrediting information campaign directed from a foreign country and supported from Georgia to the detriment of the state interests of Georgia. According to the State Security Service, the case concerns the deliberate dissemination of information containing discrediting content against the interests of Georgia on various social platforms by fake so-called bot accounts registered and managed in a foreign country, which serves to damage the economic interests of Georgia. The State Security Service explains that the goal of the campaign is to spread disinformation and create a false perception that an unfavorable environment has been created in Georgia for tourists from the Russian Federation.
