On the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the 2008 Russo-Georgian War, the state flag has been lowered on the administration building of the Government of Georgia to pay tribute to the memory of those who died.

By a government decree signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, state flags have been lowered on administrative buildings throughout Georgia to honor the memory of those who died as a result of the large-scale military intervention carried out by Russia in Georgia in order to illegally occupy the Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions of Georgia.
