Giorgi [Baramidze] stated something incorrectly, but he certainly does not deserve a kick from the servants of the dictatorship based on Ivanishvili's betrayal, who have elevated selflessness to the level of state policy, - said the third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili.
With this, he responded to the statement made by Giorgi Baramidze, one of the leaders of the "National Movement", about the war in Abkhazia, in connection with which an investigation was launched.
As Saakashvili writes on his page on the social network Facebook, he has never heard of Georgians shooting prisoners.
“Giorgi Baramidze and I have been friends and comrades for a very long time. He is one of the greatest patriots I have ever met, and during the Abkhaz war, we worked together on the exchange of prisoners of war. We have been together in Sokhumi and Gudauta, where we were almost taken prisoner ourselves.
I have not even heard a hint about the Georgians shooting prisoners, and I am sure that this is not true. Unimaginable war crimes were committed against Georgians in both Abkhazia and Tskhinvali. In the case of Tskhinvali, this has been confirmed by the Hague Criminal Court. We will definitely restore control over Abkhazia and nothing that was committed against us will remain without a response.
As for accusing Georgians of war crimes, this was actively done by Tsulukiani, who artificially provoked the investigation in 2008, as well as the Dream president, Salome Zurabishvili, whose statements were presented by the Russians as evidence against the Georgians.
Giorgi formulated something incorrectly, but he certainly does not deserve a kick from the servants of the dictatorship based on Ivanishvili's betrayal, who have elevated selflessness to the level of state policy," Saakashvili wrote.
