In 2019 [on June 19-20], there was also coordination by “deep state” and this was actually followed by public reactions. Back then, we had foreign agents within the team as well. We had foreign agents both in the parliamentary team and in the government team. We had such a situation until 2021, - this is how Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze answered journalists’ questions at a press conference held at the government administration, which concerned the events that took place on July 19-20, 2019 and anti-Russian sentiments.
In the same context, Kobakhidze also reminded journalists of the OSCE parliamentary session held in 2016, within the framework of which 6 Russian MPs arrived in Georgia, “however, no one reacted to this at that time.”
“In 2019 [on June 19-20], there was coordination by the “deep state” and this was actually followed by public reactions, there was coordination in this case too . At that time, we also had foreign agents within the team. We had about 15 foreign agents in the parliament, who later left the team. We also had foreign agents at a high level in the government, from which the team was completely freed after 2021. Before that, we had foreign agents both in the parliamentary team and in the government team. We had such a situation until 2021. This coordination was visible in 2019.
When there was no such interest and coordination from the “deep state”, I will give you an example - in 2016, a session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was held in Georgia. There were 6 Russian deputies here, one of whom was the former head of the FSB. Two or three of the 6 people had violated the “Law on Occupation”. At that time, there was no interest from the “deep state”. At that time, Usupashvili and the National Movement agreed on the format, including the guest list. At that time, the “deep state” had no interest in artificially stirring up the Georgian society, no one heard that all this happened. At that time, not a single story was made that deputies who violated the “Law on Occupation” had entered Georgia. Because at that time, the “deep state” was not tasked with artificially stirring up people around this fact.
Also, let us remind you that in 2020, "the National Movement had a pre-election event where "Tbiliso" was performed half-in Russian. There was no reaction. Because Russophobia is fake even among you, it is fake even in foreign agents, let alone the Georgian society," Irakli Kobakhidze said.
