Mamuka Mdinaradze made such grave and gross mistakes in this [my] case that this led not only to his dismissal from office, but also to his departure from politics, - former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili writes about this in another letter sent from prison.
As Gharibashvili notes, Mdinaradze's removal from politics cannot erase the grave and irreparable damage caused to the country, people and the Georgian Dream with his and Irakli Kobakhidze's complicity.
In the letter, the former Prime Minister talks about additional information, which, according to him, is directly related to the letter sent to him by the government and the incident that occurred in February of this year. Irakli Gharibashvili speaks about the suicide of the respondent to journalist Dito Chubinidze's article and says that the following question must be answered: What was the real cause of the death of human rights defender Lazare Jorbenadze?
Referring to his former teammates, the former Prime Minister notes that there are still unanswered questions regarding the suicides of a number of people that took place during the Kobakhidze-Mdinaradze administration.
“I think the public has already become convinced that the letter I published is genuine and the facts stated in it are true. Mamuka Mdinaradze made such grave and gross mistakes in this case that this led not only to his removal from office, but also to his departure from politics. However, I would like to make my position known to the public: removing Mdinaradze from politics cannot erase the grave and irreparable harm caused to the country, people and the Georgian Dream with his and Irakli Kobakhidze’s complicity.
I will once again explain to the public what they meant in the first paragraph of the letter sent to me, which mentions journalist Dito Chubinidze, Irma Inashvili and the perceptions and doubts that arose due to their activity. On this issue, Ms. Irma Inashvili herself explained that I had no contact and do not have any contact with their political or journalistic activities. I might not have said anything at all about the articles of journalist Dito Chubinidze if I had not learned a shocking fact a few days ago by chance. That is why I decided to share with the public additional information that is directly related to the letter sent to me by the government and the fact that occurred in February of this year.
On February 12, at the behest of Kobakhidze and Mdinaradze, I was sent an article from the newspaper “Asaval-Dasavali” dated February 2, 2026. In the article, journalist Dito Chubinidze interviews former human rights defender Lazare Jorbenadze. The article was mainly devoted to criticism of Kobakhidze and the serious accusations made against him.
I was given a pretentious message, which expressed suspicions based on an absolutely false perception - whether I was behind the aforementioned article. I deliberately do not write other details, although the main accusation and complaint was that they saw my traces behind such critical articles.
My reaction, of course, was extremely negative and I told them not to come to me with similar questions and complaints a second time, that such commissioned articles are not my handwriting and are characteristic of them. Later, these critical accusations were often repeated on the air of the TV company Obiektivi. Now the picture is clear to me and the answer to all questions has been given, as to why they wrote as the first point of the letter that "supporters like Dito Chubinidze and Irma Inashvili" raised serious doubts and greatly damaged the interests of the Kobakhidze-Mdinaradze team.
This whole story probably wouldn’t have been worth telling publicly if I hadn’t learned by chance that the respondent to the aforementioned article by Dito Chubinidze committed suicide some time after the article was published…
I also learned that the newspaper “Asaval-Dasavali” itself openly asked questions about the suicide of the deceased human rights defender, Lazare Jorbenadze, and questioned his version of suicide.
The following question must be answered: What was the real reason for the death of human rights defender Lazare Jorbenadze?
I am asking this question publicly because there are still unanswered questions in society regarding the suicides of numerous people that took place during the Kobakhidze-Mdinaradze administration…”, - writes Gharibashvili.
