According to Prosecutor Medea Tsiramua, former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili stated during interrogation that he does not have any information regarding human rights defender Lazare Jorbenadze's suicide.

According to the prosecutor, Irakli Gharibashvili explained that the information he voiced regarding Lazare Jorbenadze's suicide in a publicly distributed letter was based only on publications.

“Convicted Irakli Gharibashvili was questioned within the framework of the investigation ongoing into the suicide of Lazare Jorbenadze, therefore, our questions also concerned this specific fact. As for the information he publicly disseminated, the letters he publicly disseminated are based on various information received from various publications. He was based only on this information in his public letters, and not on any specific information. He was categorical that he does not possess any information regarding the suicide of Lazare Jorbenadze.

The investigative action was carried out in full compliance with the requirements of the legislation, whatever questions the investigation had, those questions were asked to the convicted person. In addition, if he wanted to disclose any additional information, he was given the opportunity to do so, although he did not possess any information.

I can categorically confirm to you that Irakli Gharibashvili does not possess any information and confirms this in an official document, in the interrogation protocol, which took place with the participation of his lawyers.
