The Prime Minister of Georgia will attend the space summit in Paris on September 9-10.

Irakli Kobakhidze was invited by the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron to the first international space summit to be held in Paris.

The event will be co-chaired by France and Germany. The main topics of the summit are science, research, security and defense issues.

The government administration also issued an official invitation a few days ago, which the Prime Minister of Georgia received from the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron.

“Mr. Prime Minister, dear Irakli, I have the honor to invite you to the first international summit dedicated to space issues, which will be held in Paris on September 9-10. Today, more than ever, space is a major vector of power and prosperity. The dynamism of industrial actors, the increased civil and military dual-use of this field, and the intensified competition require coordinated action in order to fully realize its technological potential and accelerate the sustainable and responsible development of the space economy. The summit will create an opportunity to highlight the importance of dialogue and cooperation not only between states, but also between companies and multilateral actors. It is our duty to ensure the sustainability of space activities from today for the benefit of our common well-being and future generations: this summit will allow us to strengthen this ambition. In addition, we will have the opportunity to demonstrate the expertise of our space industries and agencies, as well as the high standard of our cooperation at the scientific, industrial, technical and economic levels. It is particularly important for us to define the format of the summit together with you and other invited countries, so that the event ends with strong statements and concrete steps. Our goal is to make this meeting a unique opportunity to reaffirm the importance of space challenges and support the multilateral cooperation in space that is needed today more than ever.
