Gela Geladze has resigned as head of the State Security Service of Georgia. Geladze himself announced the decision on social media.

According to Geladze, he will continue his work in another government agency.

“I have made the decision to resign as head of the State Security Service of Georgia. Following consultations with the political team, I will continue my work in another government agency, where I will once again serve the interests of our country and society with full responsibility.

Serving as head of the State Security Service was a great responsibility and an opportunity for me to serve our country. During this period, together with every employee of the Service, our work was aimed at effectively addressing the challenges facing the state, strengthening Georgia’s security, and protecting national interests.

I would like to express my special gratitude to every employee of the State Security Service for their professionalism, dedication, and the important work they carry out every day to ensure the security of our country.

I thank the political team, especially the party’s honorary chairman, Bidzina Ivanishvili, and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, for the trust they placed in me.

I am confident that the State Security Service will continue to perform the critically important tasks entrusted to it with dignity and protect the security of the country,” Geladze wrote on social media.
