The group that organizes daily protests—sometimes with 20, sometimes 50, or at most 150 people—has truly taken on the character of a sect, and they themselves see that these protests are doomed to failure; Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists while in the United States.

According to him, the public sees everything, and it is precisely for this reason that the vast majority supports not the so-called protest, but the course declared and implemented by the government.

Kobakhidze noted that they have received instructions to act like a sect—a move he describes as tragic. "That group—which stages daily protests with anywhere from 20 to 50, or at most 150 people, and can see for themselves that these actions are doomed to failure—has truly taken on the characteristics of a sect. Yet, gathering daily has become an end in itself for them, simply so they can label it a 'continuous protest.' In reality, these actions serve only to discredit their so-called protest. When you come out every day and demonstrate to the public how few in number you are, it defies all logic—save for one explanation: they have received an order, and that order dictates, first and foremost, that they operate like a sect. This is their unfortunate choice; this is their tragic choice. The public sees everything, and that is precisely why the vast majority supports not this so-called protest, but the course declared and implemented by the government," the Prime Minister noted.
