"First, we must reclaim the territories and the country that are under our control, and then we can achieve the rest, including the restoration of territorial integrity," Nika Gvaramia, leader of the Coalition for Change, stated prior to the march taking place in Tbilisi to mark the Day of the Fall of Sokhumi.

Nika Gvaramia believes that restoring Georgia's territorial integrity is realistic, though it cannot be achieved under Georgian Dream.

"Today is a difficult day. Georgia will always remember this day - we all will—but memory alone is not enough to move forward. We must advance to restore our territorial integrity; this is a very realistic goal, yet it hinges on things that are simply unachievable under Bidzina Ivanishvili’s leadership—namely, EU membership, a high level of security, and a secure life for everyone, including our citizens living in Abkhazia. Therefore, we must first reclaim the territory and the country currently under our control; only then will we be able to achieve everything else, including the restoration of our territorial integrity," Gvaramia noted.

Gvaramia also addressed a question regarding Georgia-US relations and statements made by ruling party leaders who had assessed the current dynamics of the relationship positively.

According to Gvaramia, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s assessments cannot be reliable, as no one believes him anymore; instead, "they need to show us results." Moreover, the opposition figure believes it is impossible to mend relations with the Western world during Georgian Dream’s tenure because "everything has been ruined and destroyed," though he notes that a different government would be able to turn those relations around.

"The reality of the situation was written all over Irakli Kobakhidze’s face when he made that statement. We need to see results; no one believes what Kobakhidze says anymore—not even Ivanishvili—so we cannot rely on his words. In reality, he was given a final chance to mend ties with the West. Clearly, he cannot do it, because everything is so thoroughly ruined and damaged that it is impossible for Georgian Dream to turn the situation around. Georgia will be able to do this, but only under a different government," Gvaramia adds.
