Irakli Pavlenishvili, chairman of the governing council of the United National Movement, said that Georgia’s third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, will present his political program at today’s court hearing.

As he told journalists, “he truly intends to create another era of development together with the Georgian people.”

“Mikheil Saakashvili will make a programmatic statement today; he will deliver a programmatic speech. Mikheil Saakashvili has not spent five years in prison so that he could leave this country to the Mankurts. He truly intends to create another era of development together with the Georgian people. His vision of how changes should take place in the country and how he sees the political situation is very important.

“It is clear that Mikheil Saakashvili remains the main opponent and the main alternative to Ivanishvili. He truly intends not to leave Georgian politics for the oligarch to tear apart. Therefore, he has a specific vision of how we should get out of this swamp.

“As for the rally planned for October 1, it will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the Rike Docks. We call on everyone, not only members of our party, to attend,” Irakli Pavlenishvili said.
