Giga Parulava, a member of parliament from the For Georgia party, said this in response to a letter published yesterday by former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

“Garibashvili, in his limited thinking, thought that by attacking Gakharia and our political team, he could please his patron. Once again, he is publishing these letters based solely on his own interests. If there are any real problems in the country today, they began precisely during Garibashvili’s time.

Since this man began writing these letters, he has spoken only about himself and his own problems. He has not mentioned the problems facing our country’s society and citizens at all. These letters have nothing to do with either the problems of our country or those of our citizens. He is trying to save himself in the eyes of his patron,” Parulava said.

For reference, former Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has published another letter on social media discussing the circumstances under which he returned to the position of prime minister in 2021. In particular, the former prime minister writes about his tenure from 2021 to 2024, recalling the economic and political results achieved during his time in office and asking the public whether the situation in the country improved or deteriorated after his departure. In his lengthy statement, the former prime minister focuses on the crisis that followed Giorgi Gakharia’s resignation, double-digit economic growth, foreign-policy achievements, and Georgia obtaining EU candidate status. He also said of former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia that he had committed “betrayal.”
