According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, he has received preliminary information concerning the expenses for the Patriarch’s funeral, which indicates that "there is no sign of any improper spending."

As Kobakhidze told journalists, detailed information regarding these expenses will be shared with the public in the near future.

"There have been several reports suggesting that the funds spent on the Patriarch’s funeral were used inappropriately. I have already received preliminary information regarding this from the Government Administration. According to this initial data, there is no indication of any misuse of funds. In fact, the amount allocated was significantly higher, and a large portion of those funds was returned. Nevertheless, given the public interest and the various statements made, we consider it our duty to share full, detailed information with the public, and we will do so in the very near future," stated Kobakhidze.

Regarding whether investigative bodies should look into this matter, Kobakhidze noted that the information will first be presented to the public; if questions remain, it will then be possible to refer the issue to the relevant authorities.

"We will first present detailed information to you, and if any questions persist, we can discuss them together and, if necessary, apply to the relevant agencies," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
